Polish Social Support Service

Polish Social Support Service provides
assistance to:
-
People who need help and support due to medical,
physical and social constrains
-
People living
in the metropolitan area of Adelaide
-
Frail and
aged people of Polish background
A small service
fee may be charged, the amount to be negotiated with the Coordinator.
Through Polish speaking volunteers, this Program provides:
-
transport to
senior’s lunches, medical and other appointments
-
home and
hospital visiting
-
assistance
with correspondence
-
assistance with shopping.
Volunteers are reimbursed for their traveling expenses.
In addition to the above, Information Sessions for Polish Seniors and Polish
Carers are held on the last Wednesday of each month, at 11.00 am, at the Dom
Polski Centre.
Guest speakers from many different areas are invited to provide information
on various topics.
Over the years, speakers from Centrelink, Royal Society for the Blind,
Carers Association, Cancer Council as well as Ethnic Link Services have all
given the Polish Community the ability to access their services.
